Mortis Gods Statues Behind Baylan Skoll

What are the statues behind Baylan Skoll in Ahsoka episode 8?

The statues behind Baylan Skoll were of Mortis Gods in Ahsoka’s finale.

Baylan Skoll stood atop the statue of the Mortis God known as The Father. To the right of him was the statue of The Son, and to the left was a wrecked statue of The Daughter. Even though Baylan Skoll assisted Morgan Elsbeth’s cause, his real motivation to reach Peridea was to find out the truth behind the stories he heard at the Jedi Temple as a child.

Who are the Mortis Gods in Star Wars?

Also known as “Ones,” the Mortis Gods hail from the mysterious realm of Mortis, which appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

For those uninitiated, the three aforementioned Mortis Gods embody the Force. The Light Side of the Force is represented by The Daughter, the Dark Side by The Son, and The Father maintains the balance between the Light and the Dark Side.

In the Mortis Arc from The Clone Wars, Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan’s spirituality was transported to Mortis. Here The Son wanted to seduce Anakin to the dark side, while The Father wanted him to maintain the balance in the Force. It now seems as though the influence of the Mortis Gods will reach the live-action shows and movies.

It was rumored that Anakin Skywalker had become a Mortis God in Ahsoka. But with Baylan Skoll standing on The Father’s statue, it’s likely that he’d gain the ancient Mortis God’s power and bring balance to the Force.
