The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon was filmed on location in Paris, along with some other locations in France.
The first season’s filming began soon after the series was announced in October 2022. Its production was set up in and near several popular Parisian locations such as the Catacombs, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower, amongst others. Overall, multiple beautiful countryside locations in France were used to shoot the series.

The series is set in France. We see Daryl travel through places near Marseilles and the French Countryside, eventually ending up in Paris.
It made sense to bring the series to France where the zombie virus originated from. Series lead Norman Reedus, who plays the titular character, explained the show’s setting in detail while talking to Entertainment Weekly. He said:
“The first episode is setting the tone of where we are. These teasers of me in the countryside — it’s a lot of the first episode. So that first episode is a lot of, ‘Where the f— am I?’ And ‘Wow, look where I’m at.’ And also, ‘Daryl’s there?’ But he’s not even sure where the f— he is and how this works.“
He continued:
“We eventually see that same scope in Paris. You see that scope in certain places that people don’t usually get to shoot in. We’re in the Catacombs, we’re in the Louvre, we’re all over the place. So that French countryside scope and that backdrop changes into different backdrops of insane magnitude.”
So, we can be sure that the journey of Daryn Dixon across Paris and other locations in France is completely authentic. In fact, the second season of the series also continued filming in the European country even amidst strikes.
