In the film, Baby Mowgli is brought up and reared by a family of wolves after being abandoned following an accident. As the boy gets older, the sage panther Bagheera realizes that he needs to be taken back to the surrounding village, where he belongs. But Mowgli gets separated from him and ends up with Baloo, who teaches the little kid that residing in the forest is the finest possible way to live.
But the kid eventually flees into the jungle, where he manages to avoid the evil Shere Khan and the vicious snake, Kaa. After seeing a pretty girl named Shanti, Mowgli becomes convinced to stay in the adjoining village.
Based on Rudyard Kipling’s story, The Jungle Book is directed by Wolfgang Reitherman. It features the voice talents of Bruce Reitherman as Mowgli, Phil Harris as Baloo, and Sebastian Cabot as Bagheera. Supporting cast members include George Sanders as Shere Khan, Sterling Holloway as Kaa, and Louis Prima as King Louie of the Apes.
