With the first season approaching its end on Disney Plus, Marvel fans have already begun to wonder about the Secret Invasion Season 2 release date. The MCU introduced good Skrulls in Captain Marvel. But in Secret Invasion, they have turned bad under the leadership of a new Skrull leader Gravik. To acquire Earth as a home for Skrulls, Gravik plans to kill all humans. But the only one standing in his way is Nick Fury.
Since the series features so many twists and turns, it’s understandable why people think that Marvel might continue its story in season 2. But will there be a second season? Is there a Secret Invasion Season 2 release date?
No, there are no plans for Secret Invasion Season 2 after the first one ended on July 26, 2023. However, things could change after the finale if the viewership numbers of Season 1 are high.
Marvel’s Secret Invasion was announced as a miniseries for Disney Plus. So, it’s highly likely that we will not get a second season. But, the conflict involving the Skrulls hasn’t been fully resolved yet as there are thousands that still walk among humans. G’iah is set to bring them in with the help of Sonya Falsworth.
Furthermore, Nick Fury mentioned talks of a peace summit with the Kree, to end their war with the Skrulls. So, the Skrulls might get to move to a different planet after all. But before that, the future could be handled in two ways:
1) Secret Invasion gets a second season and the war between humans and Skrulls continues with G’iah in the lead.
2) Marvel uses The Marvels to successfully sign a peace treaty between the Kree and Skrulls and ends the human-Skrull conflict behind the scenes.
Secret Invasion’s story could also be continued with other future titles that the MCU has to offer. Characters like G’iah could lead them from the front. Similar to how Agatha: Coven of Chaos will act as a sequel to WandaVision, The Marvels and other future projects of Disney Plus could act as sequels to Secret Invasion.
