Are Harry Potter and Narnia Connected and Linked?

As part of the childhood of millions of fans worldwide, Harry Potter and The Chronicles of Narnia are among the most beloved series, both as books and movies. While many Harry Potter fans might wish to enter into a wardrobe and meet Aslan and, mutually, Narnia fans would love to apparate into the Wizarding World, is that possible? Are the Harry Potter and Narnia worlds somehow connected? Let’s find it out.

Are Harry Potter and Narnia connected?

Although very similar in many ways, Harry Potter and Narnia aren’t connected or linked.

Harry Potter and Narnia are coming-of-age stories penned by British writers J.K. Rowling and C. S. Lewis, respectively. Both book series include seven installments, a highly symbolic number in the Christianism-permeated Narnia series and Rowling’s more secular Harry Potter. At the moment, there isn’t any news about a possible crossover between the two popular worlds.

With its first installment published in 1950, the Narnia book series includes The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair, The Horse and His Boy, The Magician’s Nephew, and The Last Battle. In turn, Harry Potter started with 1997’s Philosopher’s Stone and developed with Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince, and Deathly Hallows.

Narnia and Harry Potter have also become movie series, although the one following the bespectacled wizard has been way more constant and successful than the other. Producers brought Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy on the big screen for the first time in 2005 in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, a box-office success that received two sequels before the series abruptly stopped. Harry Potter turned into a successful franchise featuring eight main films, three prequels, and a live-action series on its way at Max.
