Charlotte Flair & Liv Morgan Cast In Upcoming Film

As WWE Superstars continue to explore Hollywood as a potential path once their in-ring careers are over, a new report reveals that two of WWE’s top women’s wrestlers have been cast in a movie about a women’s wrestling pioneer.

According to a report by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Charlotte Flair and Liv Morgan have been cast in a new movie based on women’s wrestling pioneer Mildred Burke. The film is based on “Queen of the Ring,” a Pulitzer Prize-winning book by Jeff Leen.

The film will reportedly begin filming in Louisville, Kentucky, in June. Flair is slated to portray June Byers, and Morgan is reportedly playing the role of Clara Mortensen.

Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez recently had to forfeit the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship due to an injury Morgan suffered while defending the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on the May 12 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

WrestleMania 40 Leak Claims Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes Isn’t Happening

Many wrestling fans were left disappointed at the end of WWE WrestleMania 39 when Cody Rhodes was unable to defeat Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

However, the story is not over, and Cody Rhodes is still determined to finish his story on his terms.

According to a recent report by WrestleVotes (via GiveMeSport), Cody Rhodes versus Roman Reigns was potentially on the table for the main event of Wrestlemania 40 in Philadelphia as recently as April 28 of this year.

However, a new report from WRKD Wrestling on Twitter reveals another plan “on the table” for “The American Nightmare.”

According to the tweet, there have been early discussions to have Cody Rhodes versus Gunther be the Monday Night RAW Main Event of Wrestlemania 40.

Both men have reportedly expressed interest in one another. Cody and Gunther were the final two men in the 2023 Royal Rumble, a match that saw Gunther break the record for the longest time ever spent in a Royal Rumble Match.

Title Plans Changed Due To Mercedes Mone Injury

Mercedes Mone, formerly Sasha Banks in WWE, was recently injured during a match for the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title at NJPW Resurgence. As a result, she was defeated by AEW’s Willow Nightingale in the main event of the pay-per-view that took place in Long Beach, California.

New reports suggest that Mercedes was actually planned to win the title prior to her injury. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that Mone was originally booked to win the match, but she chose to change plans on the fly after suffering an injury. Mike Johnson of PWInsider also reports that Mercedes was penciled in to win the match.

Details On New WWE Headquarters

As WWE continues to prepare its new headquarters, Enlighted, a leading proptech company, has announced plans to work with WWE to provide a smart, energy-efficient headquarters. A new press release from Enlighted reveals that WWE will be driving down energy costs with the tech company’s occupancy-based lighting control system.

“The new WWE headquarters is comprised of spaces intended for a variety of very different uses,” said Rajan Mehta, Chief Technology Officer, WWE. “The Enlighted IoT Smart Building technology will make it possible for us to realize enormous energy savings, increase our operating efficiencies and use data to capture building activity for intelligent data-driven space decisions. IoT-based asset tracking and process flow improvements will make our headquarters truly a smart building.”

“Space utilization isn’t just a matter of knowing how many people are in an office or production facility at a given moment—it’s about understanding how employees and guests are moving and interacting with spaces,” said Stefan Schwab, CEO of Enlighted. “The lighting-based sensors at WWE will capture vast amounts of data that WWE can use for a refined view of activity across all of their buildings. With the scalability of cloud storage, the company will be able to identify trends and preferences as they examine building usage data over time.”
