Aliens: Fireteam Elite Switch Port Announced, More Content Teased

Aliens: Fireteam Elite wrapped up its Year 1 roadmap in late 2022 and had some updates just after, but Cold Iron Studios isn’t finished with the co-op-focused shooter. The team announced that the game is coming to the Nintendo Switch on Alien Day, which is April 26.

This port won’t be a native title, however, as it is coming to the platform through cloud streaming. Many games have taken this form to work on Nintendo’s system, including Hitman 3, Thymesia, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil Village, The Forgotten City, both A Plague Tale games, and the Kingdom Hearts series.

There will be three versions of Aliens: Fireteam Elite on the eShop in addition to a demo. The standard version of the game will be $29.99, while Aliens: Fireteam Elite – Into the Hive Edition and Aliens: Fireteam Elite – Ultimate Edition will be $39.99 and $59.99, respectively. The former only comes with the Pathogen expansion, while the latter is filled with all the current DLC. All those pieces of DLC will be on the store separately, too.

The Switch version will even be compatible with the game’s existing cross-play features that launched near Pathogen. This well let players team up no matter what system they are using.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite has received a ton of support since its release in August 2021 through free updates and paid DLC. This support includes a new expansion, cross-platform play, additional classes, cosmetics, weapons, cards, modes, and more. The most recent of which was its Ruptured Cistern update that took a limited mode with a multi-floor map and added it to the game permanently, albeit with different rewards.

More free content is on the way, too, as Cold Iron teased that another announcement is slated for April 13.
