Silent Hill: Townfall Revealed From Annapurna Interactive

No Code Studio, the developer behind the indie hit horror title Observation, is developing a Silent Hill game called Silent Hill: Townfall in a partnership with Annapurna Interactive. However, no platforms or release window were announced.

The game had a vague teaser trailer with a radio speaking about punishment and judgment. Not much was clear, but Creative Director Jon McKellan noted it would be a different kind of Silent Hill game that will still be respectful to the source material. He also said that Silent Hill has the same kind of psychological horror as the studio’s other games Observation and Stories Untold.

No Code had spoken about this deal with Annapurna at the publisher’s 2021 showcase. The studio had doubled in size for this game, which was its biggest game yet. McKellan said it was “something that [they] didn’t think [they] would really get a chance to work on.” He also said they were actively seeking to make a horror game with that mystery title, which was a genre they had previously only fell in by accident. McKellan also said that people probably weren’t going to be expecting what this game would be. While vague, all of these statements make sense in the context of a small indie team based in Glasgow making a Silent Hill game, a series that had been mostly dead for almost a decade.
