Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Dawn of Ragnarök DLC Officially Unveiled With Release Date

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s first season of premium DLC wrapped up with The Siege of Paris. Since then, Ubisoft has been releasing smaller updates with content like the Discovery Tour and the challenge tombs. The company had previously said that more DLC was coming and has now revealed what that DLC is. The big new expansion is called Dawn of Ragnarök and will release on March 10, 2022 for $39.99.

Ubisoft is calling this the “most ambitious expansion pack in the history of the series,” which is impressive for a series that has had DLC in almost every entry since 2009. In this DLC, Eivor has to “personally experience the fate of Odin” in their mythological journey “save [their] son in the face of the doom of the gods.”

This debut trailer showed off the dwarven realm of Svartalfheim, which was something Ubisoft had previously teased, and mythical elements. It also showcased Odin in action with his supernatural abilities, which is likely handled the same way the core game handles the Asgard missions. Those who pre-purchase the DLC now will get the fire-tinted Twilight Pack, which has a gear set, mount skin, and raven skin.

Industry insider and prominent leaker Tom Henderson said on Twitter that there would be more DLC this month. However, he also stated that the expansion coming in March 2022 would be around 40 hours long in addition to being a “God of War-style” of DLC. The connection is likely because the DLC is taking in mythical Norse elements just like the most recent God of War. The DLC also leaked during the weekend as as a Chinese store gave up the details just slightly before the official unveiling. Dataminers also pulled the title and abilities beforehand back in October. These abilities included being able to go invisible, fly, teleport through arrows, use ice powers, and revive fallen characters. And to top it all of, the Epic Store then also set the store page live early, fulling spilling the beans just before the trailer stream counted down.
