Microsoft Flight Simulator Getting Top Gun: Maverick DLC

The well-received Microsoft-published flight simulator called, well, Microsoft Flight Simulator is heading into the danger zone. The electronics giant announced during its E3 2021 press conference that the game is getting Top Gun: Maverick DLC. This expansion is coming to the game for free in fall 2021, which will likely be around the film’s release date on November 19, 2021. The full game will also finally be coming to the Xbox Series X/S on July 27, 2021.

At the very end, the trailer shows the iconic jets from the movie. The first jet that takes off even has Captain Pete Mitchell’s name on it, which is Tom Cruise’s character from the film, as well as his Maverick callsign. Not much else was shown, including Tom Cruise. If movies like Mission: Impossible – Fallout are any indication, Cruise likes to let viewers see his face during these stunts so if he were in the game, the player would likely be well aware of his presence.
