August 2020 Free Games for PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold

Sony and Microsoft have both announced the slate of August 2020 free games that will be available to subscribing PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members.

PlayStation Plus members will receive two titles, the multiplayer party game Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, making its PS4 debut on August 4 and available until August 31, along with Infinity Ward’s thrilling sequel to the critically-acclaimed classic Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, available July 28 through August 31. Additionally, another free online multiplayer weekend is coming to PS4 starting Saturday, August 8 through Sunday, August 9. A free PS4 theme celebrating the past decade can also be downloaded for free for a limited time.

Members still have time to down July’s PS Plus games, NBA2K20 and Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration, until Monday, August 3. You can subscribe to PlayStation Plus via this link.

Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will receive four free games — two on Xbox One and two on Xbox 360 — as part of the Games with Gold Program. On Xbox One, starting August 1, Xbox Live Gold members can download Portal Knights until August 31. Then on August 16, level buildings with gigantic battling robots in Override: Mech City Brawl, available until September 15.

On Xbox 360 and Xbox One via Backward Compatibility, perform sick stunts in MX Unleashed, available August 1 to August 15, and save the commonwealth from a ruthless dictator in the classic FPS Red Faction II, available August 16 to August 31. You can subscribe to Xbox Live Gold via this link.
