Universal Pictures has shared the official Happy Death Day 2U poster for Blumhouse’s sequel to Happy Death Day, starring returning cast members Jessica Rothe and Israel Broussard. Check out the full Happy Death Day 2U poster in the gallery below!
Jessica Rothe leads the returning cast of Happy Death Day 2U, the follow-up to Blumhouse’s (Split, Get Out, The Purge series) surprise 2017 smash hit of riveting, repeating twists and comic turns. This time, our hero Tree (Rothe) discovers that dying over and over was surprisingly easier than the dangers that lie ahead. Jason Blum once again produces and Christopher Landon returns to write and direct this next chapter, while Happy Death Day executive producers Angela Mancuso and John Baldecchi are newly joined by EP Samson Mucke (Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse).

Happy Death Day centered on college student Tree Gelbman (Rothe) who slips into a horrific time loop as she relives the day of her murder with both its unexceptional details and terrifying end until she discovers her killer’s identity. The film was directed by Landon (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones) and written by noted comic book scribe Scott Lobdell and Landon. The film also stars Ruby Modine, Rachel Matthews, Charles Aitken, Jason Bayle, Phi Vu, and Donna Duplantier.
Landon has reportedly said that the sequel will answer questions about the first installment’s endless time loop. Rothe also mentioned that Happy Death Day 2U will pick up where the first film left off in a “Back to the Future-like style.”
Happy Death Day 2U will arrive in theaters on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2019.
