Japan’s 3-D live-action horror film
Takashi Shimizu (Ju-on, The Grudge) is getting into the 3-D market with The Shock Labyrinth for Asmik Ace Entertainment. The film will be shot in the Fuji-Q High Land amusement park during its off hours and is inspired by the area’s Labyrinth of Horrors attraction. Screen Daily has more:
Based on an original screenplay by Daisuke Hosaka, the horror-thriller follows a group of teenagers dealing with the sudden return of a friend who went missing a decade ago. When the friend falls ill, they take her to a hospital but end up trapped in a labyrinthine haunted house.
Sweet. An American riff on The Funhouse? In a way, perhaps. The cast includes Yuya Yagira, Misako Renbutsu, Ryo Katsuji, Ai Maeda (Battle Royale), Erina Mizuno and Suzuki Matsuo.
