Lionsgate has just brought online a new trailer for the drama Freeheld, starring recent Academy Award winner Julianne Moore (Still Alice, The Kids Are All Right) and Academy Award-nominee Ellen Page (Juno, X-Men: Days of Future Past). Following on the heels of the first trailer released back in July, this one features Miley Cyrus performing the new song “Hands of Love,” written by Linda Perry. Check it out in the player below!

Directed by Peter Sollet (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist), Freeheld co-stars Steve Carell (Foxcatcher, “The Office”) and Michael Shannon (“Boardwalk Empire,” Man of Steel).

Based on the Oscar winning short documentary and adapted by the writer of Philadelphia, Ron Nyswaner, Freeheld tells the true love story of Laurel Hester (Moore) and Stacie Andree (Page) and their fight for justice. A decorated New Jersey police detective, Laurel is diagnosed with cancer and wants to leave her hard earned pension to her domestic partner, Stacie. However the county officials, Freeholders, conspire to prevent Laurel from doing this. Hard-nosed detective Dane Wells (Shannon), and activist Steven Goldstein (Carell), unite in Laurel and Stacie’s defense, rallying police officers and ordinary citizens to support their struggle for equality.

Lionsgate will release Freeheld on October 2.
