Emma Stone was on the “Tonight Show” last night and brought with her a new clip from The Amazing Spider-Man in which she has to run and hide from the film’s villain, The Lizard (Rhys Ifans).
I skimmed through the clip and I have to say, there is nothing about this film that feels “new” to me. This, of course, says nothing about the potential quality of it, but in terms of getting people excited I really don’t see anything that can get anyone that isn’t already excited or a Spider-Man fan in general to really look at this and go, “No that I’ve got to see!” Especially considering all the love given to The Avengers and the obvious excitement leading up to the release of The Dark Knight Rises.
I’m sure the box-office prospects here will continue to be just fine, but as far as the film itself is concerned I seems like it has already flatlined in terms of its ability to generate interest.
