Lionsgate is ramping up promotion of their upcoming all-star actioner The Expendables, co-written, directed and starring Sylvester Stallone along with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, Randy Couture, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Terry Crews, Mickey Rourke and Bruce Willis as a team of mercenaries hired to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator. The film also features a cameo by Arnold Schwarzenegger and co-stars Eric Roberts, Charisma Carpenter and David Zayas, which is to basically say it’s got a shit-ton of action movie star power.
In terms of this update I have the new banner you see above as well as six new images that have been added over the course of the past 24 hours as well as the new sneak peek directly below. As for the YouTube video above… Well, that’s an animated mash-up someone made using the first Expendables trailer as the audio and several feature film animated characters for the video. It’s a’ight, but thought I’d add it here as a little bonus.
You can browse the images in the RopeofSilicon gallery right here, but might I suggest hitting play on the video below before you do that… The Expendables hits theaters on August 13, so I expect I’ll be getting plenty more marketing material to share before that date comes around.
