Concept Art from James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’

In a few short minutes I will be interviewing Francis Ford Coppola, but before that I have a chance to toss up some recently revealed concept art from James Cameron’s Avatar as debuted by the website Market Saw.

The artwork you see here and that can be seen in much higher resolution at Market Sawcomes from the forthcoming book “The Art of Avatar: James Cameron’s Epic Adventure”.

I don’t have any details on the images outside of the one at the top is apparently a look at a “power suit” and while it is concept art Market Saw also recently posted a spy photo (right) that is said to be the actual thing if you are interested in a comparison.

The second pic (below) is said to be of a “futuristic helicopter” and there may be more information at Market Saw, but I wasn’t interested in spoiling any more of the film for myself than I needed to to post these images. The pics were approved for posting by Fox, so their legitimacy is confirmed.

Avatar is set for release on December 18 from Fox and tells the story of a wounded ex-marine, thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity, who eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival.
