Variety reports James McAvoy, Elizabeth Banks, Laura Linney and Anna Friel have joined the cast of The Details with Jacob Estes set to direct. Estes hasn’t directed a film since the 2004 thriller Mean Creek, a film that gained some traction in a few corners, but didn’t really light my fire.
Details is a black comedy penned by Estes centered on a couple (McAvoy and Banks) who discover an infestation of raccoons in their back yard. Disagreements over how to deal with the animals lead to an escalating series of events.
The film is actually going to be lensing in my sunny city of Seattle this summer. Might have to try and track down producer Mark Gordon and tell him to save me a seat and a cameo. I’m 6′ 6″ but I think I can pull off playing a raccoon… or maybe one of the trees they are climbing in.
