Tom Cruise to Re-Team with Director Doug Liman on Sci-Fi Film Luna Park

Tom Cruise is in talks to re-team with Doug Liman on Luna Park

After both Edge of Tomorrow and the upcoming drug thriller Mena, Tom Cruise looks to be establishing a solid working relationship with director Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith), as Variety is reporting that the two are looking to reunite on a sci-fi film titled Luna Park.

With a story that revolves around a group of renegade employees who take a trip to the moon to steal an energy source, Luna Park has been a longtime passion project for Liman, who attempted to mount it back in 2011 with Chris Evans and Andrew Garfield in the lead roles. Despite Paramount having greenlit the film, financing partner Skydance pulled out at the last minute when it looked like the project (like many of Liman’s other films) would go wildly over its projected $100 million budget.

While Cruise’s involvement is not locked as of now, his participation is all but certain should the new draft be written to his specifications.

Cruise is currently on a roll after the major success of Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, and plans to jump right into Jack Reacher 2 after completing work on Mena
