True Blood Star Tara Buck Joins Pee-wee’s Big Holiday

Scheduled to begin production this month, Pee-wee’s next big adventure marks the feature film directorial debut of John Lee (“Broad City,” “Inside Amy Schumer”) from a screenplay by Reubens and Paul Rust. Comedy mogul Judd Apatow (Bridesmaids, Knocked Up) produces the film, which will premiere exclusively in all Netflix territories.

In Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, a fateful meeting with a mysterious stranger inspires Pee-wee Herman to take his first-ever holiday in this epic story of friendship and destiny.

The character of Pee-wee previously starred in Tim Burton’s 1985 smash Pee-wee’s Big Adventure followed by Big Top Pee-wee in 1988, as well as five seasons of the innovative children’s show “Pee-wee’s Playhouse” from 1986 to 1990. The character made a comeback with the “The Pee-wee Herman Show on Broadway” in 2011.

Besides her work on “True Blood,” Tara Buck has racked up numerous guest-starring roles on TV series, including “The X-Files,” “Six Feet Under,” “Nip/Tuck,” “Bones,” “Justified” and “Longmire.” She will next be seen opposite Rainn Wilson on the April 2 episode of Fox’s detective show “Backstrom.”
