Arrow Executive Producer Reveals When Laurel Will Become Black Canary

Following the reveal of Katie Cassidy in her new Black Canary duds, we knew that it was only a matter of time before Laurel went full vigilante and put on the mask in an episode of “Arrow.” Now, speaking with The Hollywood Reporter about their forthcoming crossover with “The Flash,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed Laurel will appear in that episode but not for long and for a specific reason.

“Laurel appears in the Arrow episode,” Kreisberg tells the outlet. “She’s not as present in these episodes, but that is because we’ve been building up to her appearance as the Black Canary. We sort of said that Sara was the Canary, but Laurel is the Black Canary. Episodes 10, 11 and 12 are a three-part trilogy that are about her. And episode 13 I think I can spoil, is called ‘Canaries.’ For fans of Laurel and for fans of Katie [Cassidy], they’re going to get more than their fill after the winter break.”

Also starring Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, Colton Haynes, Willa Holland, Paul Blackthorne, and John Barrowman, “Arrow” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
