Adult Swim has officially ordered a second season of President Curtis, giving the upcoming Rick and Morty spinoff an early renewal before its first episode has even aired. The announcement was made during the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con, where the cast and creators confirmed the news.
The renewal was revealed during the Comic-Con presentation featuring Keith David, Stephanie Beatriz, Jim Rash, co-creators Dan Harmon and James Siciliano. They gathered to discuss the series ahead of its launch. The news comes before the first episode has aired. The series is scheduled to premiere on July 26 on Adult Swim immediately after the Rick and Morty season finale. Episodes will begin streaming on HBO Max the following day.
According to the press release, “Season Two will continue the adventures of President Curtis and his team as they confront new cryptid threats, unexpected allies, and increasingly bizarre sci-fi missions.” Commenting on the early renewal, Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen said, “President Curtis quickly proved himself worthy of another term!” He continued, “With Keith David’s inimitably endearing performance and the creativity of Dan, James and the entire show team, this series and this President are what the people need more of – even if they don’t know it yet.”
President Curtis shifts the focus to the Oval Office. The series follows President Andre Curtis and his staff as they respond to extraordinary situations. This includes situations like unexplained paranormal activity and threats involving other dimensions. The voice cast includes Keith David, Stephanie Beatriz, and Jim Rash.
