Spider-Man’s Brand New Day battle raises the stakes
The official concept art for Spider-Man: Brand New Day features a showdown between the friendly neighborhood webslinger, The Hulk, and The Punisher. While the first image shows The Hulk attempting to stomp on Spidey, the second image shows The Punisher being flung aside while Spider-Man lands a blow to The Hulk’s face.
An X post with both images highlights the nature of Frank Castle’s involvement in the brawl. It read, “Punisher eventually becomes entangled in Spider-Man and Hulk’s battle, not because he’s hunting either of them, but because his own mission collides with theirs.”
The upcoming Marvel flick marks The Punisher’s and Jon Bernthal’s Marvel Cinematic Universe big-screen debut. He will also be seen with Tom Holland in The Odyssey, slated for release later this month. Alongside Holland, Bernthal, and Mark Ruffalo, Spider-Man: Brand New Day stars Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Tramell Tillman, Marvin Jones III, and Michael Mando in key roles.
The official synopsis of Spider-Man: Brand New Day reads, “Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.”
