The Night Agent is back with Season 3, but the show is notably missing one key character: Rose, played by Luciane Buchanan. Despite having featured heavily throughout the first and second seasons of the show, Rose is absent as Peter’s love interest in the third season. Here’s why.

Is Rose dead in The Night Agent Season 3?
No, Rose is not dead in The Night Agent Season 3. However, as indicated at the end of the second season, the cybersecurity entrepreneur is not a part of the narrative anymore after Peter (Gabriel Basso) told her at the end of Season 2 to stay away and not contact him again for her own safety.
Rose was an integral part of the narrative in Seasons 1 and 2, and served as a love interest to Peter. Now, a similar role is handed over to financial reporter Isabel (played by Genesis Rodriguez), who stars opposite Peter in the new season.
However, there remains the possibility of Rose’s return.
Why Rose is not in The Night Agent Season 3?
Rose is not in The Night Agent season 3 because her narrative has come to an end. Despite being a key figure in the previous seasons, the second season concluded her role.
Shawn Ryan, the showrunner, spoke about how they decided on omitting Rose. “In the writers room, we certainly discussed it; in fact, that was our starting position: What would a Peter-Rose-centric story in Season 3 look like?” he explained to Deadline. “There were moments in that conversation that felt a little derivative of the first couple of seasons. And then we challenged ourselves, what would it look like without Rose the season, and we came up with a lot of what you see in Season 3. So it was completely a creative decision.”
Ryan further asserted that the door to Rose’s return is still open.
The Night Agent Season 3 premieres on February 19, 2026, on Netflix.
