NCIS: Origins Season 2 has made fans curious about whether Lala will die or survive. The previous installment ended on a brutal cliffhanger where she was fighting for her life. This situation happened after Lala crashed her Jeep while trying to save a child who got in her way. It ended with her hanging upside down in the car seat, heavily hurt and bleeding.
Now that the cast and crew are promoting NCIS: Origins Season 2, fans feel like they may have unintentionally given away her fate.
Is Mariel Molino’s Lala dead or alive in NCIS: Origins Season 2?
Whether Lala will be alive in NCIS: Origins Season 2 is not confirmed yet. However, a few details have made it suspicious. The first hint at her return came from actor Austin Stowell, who plays Leroy Jethro Gibbs. He explained,
“Lala will be back in some capacity. She went through a terrible accident, and anybody who would go through something like that, there are going to be adjustments and baby steps coming back into the workplace.” (via TVLine)
Many viewers of the show felt like this was confirmation of Lala’s return in NCIS: Origins Season 2.
Later, other cast members stepped in to soften the remarks made by Stowell. They claimed that his comments were hypothetical. Wilmer Valderrama added that nothing is confirmed yet.
Another hint at Lala coming back is the snapshots of Mariel Molino on set during the filming of Season 2. When combined with what Stowell said, it is understandable why fans are reading between the lines.
As for the storytelling side of Lala’s return, it is possible that two paths can be chosen. Either she comes back and her recovery affects the entire team, or if she dies, the creators can use flashbacks to fill in the gaps.
