With so many previously dead characters coming back to General Hospital, fans now want one fan-favorite character, played by Roger Howarth, to return. Though Howarth’s Franco was extremely popular, he was killed off in 2023. It now seems unlikely that General Hospital would be able to bring him back after Howarth signed on for The Young and the Restless.
Fans want Roger Howarth to return as Franco in General Hospital
Franco had one of the most fascinating arcs on General Hospital. In 2013, Roger Howarth took over the role, and Franco became a series regular. Though Howarth played other roles in the series, this one became the most memorable. He remained a fan favorite until his death in 2023, which resulted from an altercation with Peter after Franco confronted him.
Howarth’s performance as the character was so remarkable that many fans have not been able to forget him.
Recently, General Hospital brought back several fan-favorite characters, and now fans want Howarth’s character to return as well. The discussion started on the General Hospital Fans – Official Facebook page.
One user wrote, “As long as we’re bringing people back from the dead… Let’s bring back Roger Hawarth’s Franco! And William deVry’s Julian Jerome! And Brandon Barash as Johnny Zacara!” The post added, “UPDATE: The very talented Roger Hawarth is going to be on Young and Restless!”
Many fans shared the same sentiment in the comments. “Roger Hawarth is my favorite!!! I hate that they killed him off and then just totally forgot about who might have killed him,” one fan commented. Another said, “Just bring back Roger Howarth! Okay!” Yet another user added, “I’d go for that! But Roger Howarth just got cast on YR.”
As the last fan noted, Roger Howarth has indeed been cast in Young and Restless, making this switch an impossibility at the moment. But at least the fans of the actor will get to see him.
