Among the intense drama that is surrounding Below Deck Season 12, the most recent incident involved Kelly Furey‘s removal from the yacht after she became uncontainable. Why did Captain Kerry Titheradge remove Kelly Furey in Below Deck Season 12 Episode 10?
In the previous episode of Below Deck Season 12, Kelly Furey was removed from the boat after she became too drunk. She allegedly became a safety hazard to herself and the others on the yacht. Hence, Captain Kerry had to call for assistance to take Kelly off the yacht. This was a first-time event in the history of Below Deck.
There was much more to the incident than what could be fit into a 45-minute episode, as per Captain Kerry Titheradge. “We could only put so much into a 45-minute episode…But it was very, very, very intense for everybody in the vessel,” the Captain told People. He also called it the “craziest” experience he had as a Captain.
He further added about this incident, “It’s such a hard thing to do at first because you don’t want to be a party pooper, right? But it’s about safety.” He continued, “Her enjoyment is secondary to her safety.” Furey also grew aggressive with them as they tried to contain her behavior, Titheradge revealed.
Captain Kerry elaborated, “I was trying to physically stop her from getting in the water, at first using my body to block her, but then she’d try to get past me.” He added, “I asked the crew to move up. They kind of made a wall so she couldn’t get past us to get her into a safer area of the vessel.”
Ultimately, the Captain had to enlist the help of the authorities to get Furey off the yacht. However, the drama on Below Deck has hardly stopped after that. With Kelly Furey gone, Helen seems to have become a bit problematic for others.
