Jax Taylor, one of the most talked-about stars of The Valley, has officially confirmed that he won’t return for the show’s next season. The Vanderpump Rules alum is leaving the Bravo spinoff to focus on something far more personal. What is it? Here are more details.
Jax Taylor explains why he is leaving The Valley
In a statement shared with Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Taylor revealed that leaving The Valley after Season 2 is a necessary step for his personal well-being. “After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I’ll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley,” he said.
“Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself – especially for our son, Cruz.” For those unaware, throughout Season 2, Taylor’s sobriety journey played out in front of cameras.
From entering a rehab facility to confronting the realities of his strained marriage with Brittany Cartwright, viewers watched Taylor go through one of the hardest chapters of his life. At one point, he even monitored Cartwright through home security cameras while communicating with co-stars via text from rehab, raising eyebrows among viewers.
Ahead of the season premiere, Taylor opened up to Deadline about how intense filming had been for him. “It’s night and day,” Taylor told Deadline. “I watch a lot of reality TV [and] I don’t think I’ve ever seen a season like this in my life, especially for me — [this has been the] hardest year in my life. The last thing I want right now is for people to see what they’re about to see.”
Taylor admitted that the first two episodes of The Valley show him at his lowest. He said, “You’re going to see me at my most vulnerable state… at rock bottom… hanging on by a thread. That first episode is bad. Episode 2 — [it’s] really bad.”
So, whether or not Jax Taylor decides to return in the future, for now, he is leaving The Valley.
