Freakier Friday star Lindsay Lohan has finally opened up about her return as Anna in the highly anticipated sequel to the iconic 2003 movie. It is currently scheduled to make its debut on August 8, 2025.

“In the film, Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice,” reads the official synopsis.

Lindsay Lohan teases Anna’s growth in Freakier Friday

During a recent interview with Empire, Lohan discussed her character’s growth from being a rebellious teenager in the first installment, to now being reintroduced as a mom to a teen daughter in Freakier Friday.

“The whole world looks different,” Lohan said. “Everything is about your child. But we have to remember to make time for ourselves too, live our lives, fulfill our dreams. Moms are always trying to juggle it all, and that’s what Anna’s going through in this.”

In addition, Lohan also teased the return of her character’s iconic Punk Rock band called Pink Slip, confirming that fans will once again get to her have a guitar solo.

“That punk Anna, she’s still there,” she continued. “The second I started with my guitar coach again, it was like we never left. It was the same guitar, everything. It was like it was yesterday. We made it [Anna’s guitar solo] more difficult for this one. I’m such a perfectionist; we rehearsed a lot.”
