Did FBI Season 8, Most Wanted Season 7 and International Season 5 get canceled?
While FBI has been renewed for an eighth season, Most Wanted Season 7, and International Season 5 have been canceled by CBS.
All three shows aired their recent season’s finale on May 20, 2025. Further, fans grew eager about the show’s next chapters. The good news is that FBI is confirmed to be coming back with another season. But, the show’s spin-off series, Most Wanted and International, haven’t been renewed further. For the unversed, FBI was renewed for the eighth and ninth seasons in April 2024, much ahead of the premiere of Season 7. It will air through the 2026-2027 schedule of CBS.
On the other hand, the reason behind the cancellations of the FBI’s Most Wanted and International wasn’t particularly revealed. However, it seems both shows were canceled due to a packed schedule and concerns over economic viability. Notably, a third FBI spin-off titled FBI: CIA is on its way.
Amy Reisenbach, CBS Entertainment President, addressed the cancellation of the spin-offs recently. She stated, “It’s not easy to end shows and we had a lot of options this year. The schedule is really full and so we always have to look at all of our shows, look at the aggregate information, the creative of where they are in their life cycle, what the finances look like, what the ratings are, and then we make those tough decisions.” (via Deadline)
She further added, “We love working with Dick Wolf and we’re so excited to bring CIA onto the schedule. We have to be fiscally responsible, and ultimately, those deals and the shows just weren’t penciling out for us from an economic perspective. But we want to be in the business with Dick. We’re excited to launch a new two-hour block next season.”
