The latest Queen of Episode 9 began with Hong Hae-In and her family getting thrown out of the conglomerate Queens Group. Secretary Grace arranged for reporters before asking the family to leave. However, before the reporters could click pictures, Hyun-Woo blocked their way with his van, taking the family to his village Yongduri. Ultimately, Hae-In’s family sought refuge with Hyun-Woo’s family without access to their chaebol status or money.

As Hyun-Woo’s family coped with the chaebol family’s arrival, he asked Hae-In to stay close to him until their situation was resolved. He requested that the two of them would be less miserable if she would choose to stay with him. After an awkward family dinner, Hyun-Woo’s family arranged for the chaebols to stay in their guest house. Hong Soo-Cheol remained heartbroken over his wife, Cheon Da-Hye, and his son leaving him due to Eun-Seong’s betrayal.

While Mo Seul-Hee enjoyed the luxury, her son Eun-Seong expressed having different goals than her. He described having feelings for Hae-In and wanting to bring her back at any cost. Hae-In’s aunt, Hong Beom-Ja, reeled with her father and former Queens Group Chairman Hong Man-Dae’s health when she met an unknown man in the village.

Meanwhile, Hae-In found a radio tape and realized it was hers from high school. She quickly realized having met Hyun-Woo in school, thinking about the fate that led them together. When she asked Hyun-Woo about the tape, he lied, saying that he didn’t remember whose tape it was. The following day, he tended to Hae-In before leaving. While Hae-In found some solace in her mother-in-law’s cooking.

Eun-Seong began restricting Queens Group with his plans and ambitions the following day. He planned to establish a cooperation in Singapore by 2025 for the group to market abroad. Hae-In expressed her desire to collaborate so the family could return and the former couple could part ways for good. Meanwhile, Eun-Seong discovered about Hae-In’s illness and confronted the doctor. After getting no information, he left. Before Hae-In could meet the doctor, Hyun-Woo told her about Eun-Seong’s visit.

Later, at the office, Hyun-Woo received a threat from broker Pyeon Seong-Uk, who was involved in real estate investment fraud. The broker warned Hyun-Woo to take him off the no-fly list. Meanwhile, Eun-Seong transferred Hong Man-Dae elsewhere, leaving Seul-Hee flustered. She hoped to take over Hae-In’s position using Man-Dae’s stocks, but Eun-Seong rebelled against it.
