K-Pop Reality Show I-Land 2 Teaser Trailer Reveals Release Date

Mnet’s K-pop reality show I-Land 2 has confirmed its release date through a teaser. After collaborating with HYBE on the first season, the second installment of I-Land will feature YG producer Teddy and famous K-pop artist Jeon Somi.

K-pop survival shows have become increasingly popular, and Mnet has produced some of the best reality shows, including Boys Planet, Produce 101, Kingdom, Queendom, I-Land, and more. The first season of I-Land created the popular K-pop group Enhypen. From 23 participants, seven rookies, Suno, Jay, Jake, Jungwon, Heeseung, Niki, and Sunghoon, emerged as winners who debuted in 2020.

Mnet X The Black Label’s I-Land 2 will air from April 18 at 8.50 p.m. KST/ 7.50 a.m. ET/ 4.50 a.m. PT. The teaser reveals that the show’s second season will be an upgraded version of a K-pop reality show where contestants will explore their identity through various missions.

The upcoming season of I-Land also features some of the famous faces of Korean entertainment. K-drama star Song Kang will tell the show’s story as the official host, and solo K-pop artist Jeon Somi will be the cast.

Korean media reports reveal that Teddy, the Black Label’s CEO, will appear on the show alongside Somi. However, little about Somi’s role in the show has been revealed.

Meanwhile, the first season of I-Land ran for twelve episodes in two parts. The voting line was open for global audiences, and the contestants stayed inside a house as part of the survival competition.

K-pop hitmakers BTS and TXT also appeared as guests on the show. So, for I-LAND 2, fans speculate that some famous Black Label artists, including Big Bang’s Taeyang, Zion T, and more, will appear as guests.

Before the beginning of I-Land 2: N/A, Mnet has explained the meaning of the season’s title. Per the teaser, the ‘N’ stands for ‘Unique perspective,’ and ‘A’ stands for ‘Infinite possibilities.’

The show’s second season will explore how the participants can use its missions to unleash their unique talents and infinite potential.
