Based on Matthew Quirk’s novel, The Night Agent is centered on FBI agent Peter Sutherland as he gets stationed in the White House basement to attend to an emergency “Night Action” line that rarely receives phone calls. However, one call sent Peter into a dangerous situation.

“The series is a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centering on a low-level FBI Agent who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings — until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast-moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office,” the synopsis reads.

Who else is joining Gabriel Basso for Season 2?

Both Basso and Luciane Buchanan will return to reprise their Season 1 roles, joining previously announced cast members Amanda Warren, Arienne Mandi, Louis Herthum, Berto Colon, Brittany Snow, and Teddy Sears.

The Night Agent is created and executive produced by Shawn Ryan through his MiddKid Productions banner. Ryan also serves as the showrunner. Additional executive producers include David Beaubaire, Seth Gordon, Julia Gunn, Marney Hochman, Paul Neinstein, William Sherak, Nicole Tossou, James Vanderbilt, Paul Bernard, and Munis Rashid.

The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television.
