Jung Jin-Young Promises ‘More Scary Scenes’ in Sweet Home 3

Jung Jin-Young became extremely popular with his appearance in the popular Netflix K-drama Sweet Home 2. He impressed viewers in his role as Chan-Young, a young soldier in the Special Forces who transports survivors to a safe place. Starring Song Kang in the lead, the drama is an eight-episode series that follows the story of Green Home survivors battling a monster apocalypse in the world.

Season 3 of Sweet Home was greenlit alongside the second season, raising viewers’ anticipation even more. However, Sweet Home 2 received equal doses of praise and criticism, partly because of the three-year gap between the first and the second installment. However, it looks like Sweet Home 3 will have more ‘scary scenes’ as Jung Jin-young promises. The series also stars Lee Jin-Wook, Go Min-Si, Lee Si-Young, Park Gyu-Young, Yu Oh-Seong, and more.

Jung Jin-Young teases a scary Sweet Home 3

Sweet Home established a very successful franchise with two very popular seasons. The first aired in 2020, while Sweet Home 2 premiered on December 1, 2023, on Netflix. Jung Jin-Young appeared in the second season, receiving wide appreciation for his role as Chan-Young. In an interview with IZE, he talked about his character and revealed what people can expect from Season 3.

Jin-Young revealed that there will be many ‘scary scenes’ in Sweet Home 3. He said, “As Season 3 progresses, more scary things will happen.” He also confessed that the scenes will satisfy viewers’ anticipation regarding the third season, raising even more curiosity. Jin-Young further revealed how he felt pressure filming Sweet Home 2, given the popularity of the franchise.

He said, “As soon as I started filming, I started to feel pressure. I thought, ‘Oh, right, this is Sweet Home.’ Because Season 1 was so loved, I felt pressure to ‘do it well’ every time a difficult scene came up. As many people watched it, there would be some kind of evaluation, and I felt that pressure belatedly.” Also, Jin-Young credited director Lee Eung-Bok for his guidance.

In the interview, the Sweet Home 2 cast member revealed he’d put on 6 kg to make his character look buffed up, considering Chan-Young was a former baseball player. Jin-Young revealed that he went to the gym regularly and maintained his diet and physique to ensure justice to his character.
