Zachary Levi Comments on Rumors About the Live-Action Tangled Remake

In a recent interview, Levi shared his thoughts regarding the rumored casting of Florence Pugh in the potential live-action remake of Tangled, in which he voiced the role of Flynn Rider. He expressed his desire to portray his character in live action if Pugh would indeed be cast as Rapunzel.

Tangled was directed by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard from a screenplay written by Dan Fogelman, based on the classic Rapunzel story by the Brothers Grimm. It featured the voice of Levi alongside Mandy Moore, Donna Murphy, Jeffrey Tambor, Ron Perlman, and more. The film was also nominated for Best Original Song at the 83rd Academy Awards for the Alan Menken song “I See the Light,” which was performed Moore and Levi’s characters.

Both Moore and Levi reprise their roles in the animated series spin-off Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure, which ran on-air from 2017-2020. Afterward, the Emmy-nominated actress was able to voice Rapunzel in two more Disney projects including 2018’s Ralph Breaks the Internet and the recently released Disney+ special Lego Disney Princess: The Castle Quest.
