Lil Nas X Documentary Will Have World Premiere at TIFF 2023

Lil Nas X and his documentary, Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero, are heading to the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF 2023) next month. The film will have its world premiere on Saturday, September 9, at Roy Thomson Hall in the Gala program at TIFF.

Who is Involved in Lil Nas X Documentary?

Long Live Montero follows Lil Nas X, the two-time Grammy-award-winning artist behind Old Town Road, for 60 days of his global tour to support his debut album. According to the synopsis, the film “features spectacular tour footage and fascinating glimpses of life backstage, interwoven with Montero pre-fame — even then, his vision and ambition were clear.”

Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero is directed by Carlos López Estrada (Raya and the Last Dragon) and Zac Manuel (Time). The film is produced by RadicalMedia, the company behind Questlove’s Oscar-winning documentary Summer of Soul. Columbia Records, Museum & Crane, and Sony Music Entertainment’s Premium Content Division also produce.

Dave Sirulnick, Caryn Capotosto, Saul Levitz, Adam Leber, Adriana Arce, and Gee Roberson are listed as producers of the film. Executive producers include Meredith Bennett, Jon Kamen, and Frank Scherma, Tom Mackay, and Krista Wegener.
