Where to watch Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Live-Action Snow White Set Photos Reveal Seven Fantastical Beings

New set photos from Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Snow White are here. They show off not only what Rachel Zegler’s Snow White will look like but also reveal a new twist on the seven companions she’ll have.

The new set photos come from the Daily Mail and show off Zegler in the iconic red, blue, and yellow outfit of Snow White as she moves through a field. Behind her trail seven people, which the Daily Mail claims are being called “fantastical beings” rather than the “dwarfs” that were featured in the 1937 animated film. These people can be seen dressed in a variety of eccentric clothing, while cheering and marching through the field as well.

The cast of the seven includes Martin Klebba, who will be playing Grumpy in the upcoming film. The Daily Mail also reports that two stand-in extras were also used, so it’s unclear exactly who will and won’t be making the final film.

What do we know about the live-action Snow White?

Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Snow White is based on the studio’s first animated classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which debuted over 80 years ago and started Disney’s success with animated films. It was also inspired by the 1812 German fairy tale written by the Brothers Grimm.

The film will be led by Rachel Zegler (West Side Story, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) in the titular role, with Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen. Joining them are Andrew Burnap as Jonathan and Martin Klebba as Grumpy. Set to be directed and produced by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson, the project is expected to expand the story and music from the original. La La Land and The Greatest Showman duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are also attached to write new songs for the adaptation.

This project is part of Disney’s growing list of upcoming live-action projects, including Moana, Hercules, Lilo & Stitch, and Bambi.
