Tyler Perry’s A Madea Homecoming Trailer: It’s A Family Affair

Netflix has released the official trailer for the newest installment to Tyler Perry’s long-running comedy franchise titled A Madea Homecoming, which features the return of Perry’s iconic character after two years since 2019’s A Madea Family Funeral. The film will be available for streaming next month on February 25.

Tyler Perry’s A Madea Homecoming is written and directed by Perry. Joining him are franchise vets Cassi Davis Patton as Aunt Bam, David Mann as Mr. Brown, Tamela Mann as Cora, Gabrielle Dennis, Brandon Black, and Isha Blaaker.

“The film that centers around Madea’s great-grandson’s college graduation, though the celebratory moment hits a halt as hidden secrets and family drama threaten to destroy the happy homecoming,” reads the synopsis.

It is executive produced by Perry, with Will Areu and Mark Swinton serving as producers. It will also feature a guest appearance from iconic Irish actor Brendan O’Carroll, who matches Madea’s comedic prowess as Agnes Brown.

Inspire by Perry’s mother and aunt, Madea first appeared in the 1999 stage play titled I Can Do Bad All by Myself. The iconic character went on to become the lead of their own film franchise that began with 2005’s Diary of a Mad Black Woman, which was Perry’s feature debut.
