New Cruella Clips & TV Spot Revealed Ahead of Theatrical & Disney+ Debut

With only less than two weeks left before its theatrical release and Disney+ debut, Walt Disney Studios has released new television spot and clips for Craig Gillespie’s upcoming live-action feature Cruella. Starring Oscar winners Emma Stone and Emma Thompson, the film is scheduled to arrive in theaters and on Disney+ with Premier Access on Friday, May 28.

The first clip (via Fandango) and the TV Spot provided some new footage that highlight Estella’s devious and stylish schemes with her two henchmen, who are helping her make a name for herself in the fashion industry. As for the second clip, it features Thompson’s The Baroness as she surprisingly hires Estella.

Disney’s Cruella will be led by Emma Stone (La La Land) as the young version of the titular fur-obsessed antagonist, who was first famously portrayed by Glenn Close in the 1996 and 2000 live-action adaptations of 101 Dalmatians. Joining her is fellow Academy Award winner Emma Thompson as the Baroness, Joel Fry and Paul Walter Hauser as the henchmen Jasper and Horace, along with Mark Strong, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Emily Beecham.

Based on the character created by Dodie Smith in her 1956 book The Hundred and One Dalmatians, the new live-action film will explore the rebellious early days of one of cinema’s most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil. Set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, the film follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets.

One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly Haute. But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable, and revenge-bent Cruella.
