Universal Snaps Up Mike Flanagan’s The Season of Passage

Christopher Pike’s novel The Season of Passage is set to be adapted into a space horror film from Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House). Deadline reported that Universal pictures acquired the feature pitch in a “competitive situation”. The director took to Twitter to announce his excitement.

Mike Flanagan will follow up Doctor Sleep and his current Christopher Pike series The Midnight Club with directing duties on the feature The Season of Passage. He will also pen the script along with James Flanagan. They will produce along with Intrepid Pitcures producing partner Trevor Macy. Christopher Pike, the writer of the science fiction horror novel set on Mars, will executive produce along with Melissa Nishioka. Additionally overseeing for the studio are  Universal’s SVP of Production Ryan Jones and Director of Development Christine Sun.
