Netflix Orders The Babysitter Sequel With McG Set To Return

It may have been no critical darling, but Netflix’s horror-comedy The Babysitter was clearly a hit for the streaming service as after two years of drawing in viewers. Now, a sequel is being fast-tracked with original director McG (Terminator Salvation) set to return, according to Bloody Disgusting.

The Babysitter follows Cole, who is madly in love with his babysitter Bee. She’s cool and awesome in all the ways Cole is not. One evening while Bee is babysitting, Cole witnesses the unthinkable. Now he must survive a night full of first kisses, first broken hearts, and first encounters with homicidal maniacs.

Judah Lewis (Demolition) stars as the love-stricken Cole with Samara Weaving (Ash vs Evil Dead, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) appearing as Bee. Her murderous band of homicidal maniacs is played by Bella Thorne (Scream: The TV Series, Amityville: The Awakening), Andrew Bachelor (Meet the Blacks), Robbie Amell (The Flash, The X-Files), and Hana Mae Lee (Pitch Perfect series).

Written by Brian Duffield (Jane Got a Gun), The Babysitter was directed by McG (We Are MarshallTerminator Salvation). Originally set to arrive from New Line Cinema, The Babysitter debuted on Netflix in October 2017 to mixed-to-positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, currently maintaining a 71% approval rating from critics based on 24 reviews on review aggregate Rotten Tomatoes.
