Ryan Potter is Beast Boy in Titans Live-Action Series

DC Entertainment has announced that actor Ryan Potter has joined the cast of the live-action Titans series in the role of Beast Boy. This isn’t Potter’s first forray into superheroes, however, as he voiced Hiro Hamada in the Big Hero 6 animated film and its upcoming television series.

As a child, Garfield “Gar” Logan contracted the lethal disease, Sakutia, while on an African expedition with his geneticist parents. Treated with an experimental drug, Gar survived but not without developing some bizarre side effects. Along with skin and hair turning permanently green, the wisecracking, fun-loving Beast Boy is able to reshape himself into any animal of any size he can imagine.

Potter joins a cast that includes Anna Diop (24: Legacy) as Koriand’r/Starfire, Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) as Dick Grayson/Robin, Teagan Croft (Home and Away) as Raven, Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Dawn Granger/Dove, and Alan Ritchson (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) as Hank Hall/Hawk. Lindsey Gort will also star in the series as Police Detective Amy Rohrbach, the new partner of Dick Grayson.

Titans follows a group of young soon-to-be Super Heroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In this action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others. Titans is a dramatic, live-action adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book teams ever. The show will be written by Akiva Goldsman (Star Trek: DiscoveryUnderground), President and CCO of DC Entertainment Geoff Johns (The FlashArrow), and Greg Berlanti (ArrowDC’s Legends of TomorrowThe FlashSupergirl).

The Warner Bros. TV series will premiere in 2018 as part of DC’s direct-to-consumer digital service.
