The Upcoming Amityville Horror Film Has a New Title And It is…

If you had not heard, a new “Amityville Horror” film is complete. Director Franck Khalfoun (Maniac) spent the first half of the year lensing the latest production – inspired by the ominous abode at 112 Ocean Avenue – for Dimension Films and Blumhouse Productions.
While plot details are scarce, we know Jennifer Jason Leigh, Cameron Monaghan and Bella Thorne star as a family who move into the Long Island home.

Dimension Films announced today that it will release the supernatural thriller Demonic, presented by James Wan (The Conjuring, Insidious), on December 12, 2014. An International Trailer for Kristy, aka Satanic, Surfaces!

From out of nowhere comes an international trailer for Kristy, the Ashley Greene-starring horror film also known as Random and Satanic. BlairWitch.de scored a look at the promo which you can watch here. Kristy, which also stars Haley Bennett and Lucas Till, was directed by Donkey Punch’s Oliver Blackburn. And there may be a very good reason you’ve never heard of this one, or, have just forgotten about it: The film is housed at The Weinstein Company and it has been awaiting a release for a bit now.

Halloween 3 Gains Some Momentum This Week

This week, B-D said that The Weinstein Co./Dimension Films is building some sort of awareness for Halloween 3 at the Cannes film market. This is rather significant because the company has not said much about a threequel for quite some time. Still, I was hesitant to report because, honestly, they never stopped developing it. They’ve been kicking around a threequel since Rob Zombie’s Halloween II came out.

As of last fall, when I spoke to some folks at Trancas International, they were still looking for the “right pitch” but were not finding it. So, it’s not as if the project has died. It’s always going. Just like TWC/Dimension are still looking for a right approach to Hellraiser. Projects quiet down, but it doesn’t mean they’re dead.

Brad Pitt to Produce 3 Videotapes, Dimension Greenlights Underwater Thriller

We’re getting the first word on two projects that are separately in development at Brad Pitt’s Plan B and Dimension Films. Both are genre-based, further bolstering Hollywood’s craving for low budget thriller fare these days.

First up, 3 Videotapes, which is said to be in the vein of The Ring and Momento, says Deadline.
