Randy Orton Receives High Praise for His Stellar Match Against Gunther

The 14-time WWE World Champion Randy Orton faced the current World Heavyweight Champion Gunther at Bash in Berlin. In the King of the Ring tournament finals, the Ring General, Gunther, faced Orton and defeated him to win the tournament. Gunther was declared the winner despite his opponent’s shoulder being up during the match. This controversy led to the Ring General agreeing to Orton’s demand for a rematch at the WWE Bash in Berlin.

The match featured several close calls, but the Ring General ultimately secured the victory via submission. Gunther locked in the submission hold, and Orton passed out, prompting the referee to call for the bell and declare him the winner.

Gunther retained his title, and afterward, both stars shared a great moment as he and Orton shook hands. WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff has given high praise to Randy Orton following his impressive match against Gunther.

Eric Bischoff calls Randy Orton’s match with Gunther a ‘master class’

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff, known for his critical opinions, was impressed with Randy Orton’s performance. On his podcast, 83 Weeks, Bischoff praised Orton’s skills, highlighting his mastery in pacing a match and engagement with the crowd.

Bischoff stated, “Randy Orton is a national treasure. He is so good, he put on a master class in there. He is the literal definition of less is more, talk about a guy who knows how to pace a match, who knows how to get the crowd into the match, who knows how to get his opponent over and sells, oh my God Randy’s ability to sell is so believable.”

“There aren’t enough of the appropriate words for me to describe how impressed I am and how much I respect Randy Orton … what Gunther learned in the ring by working with Randy even though it was awkward and even though Randy was leaning into the crowd and that being unusual, that’s what Gunther needs. He needs to be in more of those situations,” he continued.

The Ring General, who retained his title, was confronted by his rival Sami Zayn this past Monday on WWE RAW. Meanwhile, Randy Orton, currently on SmackDown, has yet to reveal his next move. It will be interesting to see what direction he takes moving forward.
