Update on Adam Cole’s In-Ring Status Following MJF’s Return

Former AEW World Champion MJF made his return at AEW Double or Nothing and attacked Adam Cole. Cole had betrayed MJF last year at World’s End when he revealed himself as the devil. They were part of a storyline as friends, facing each other. They also formed a tag team where they won the ROH tag team titles at All In in London.

Since last September, the current leader of the Undisputed Kingdom faction has been sidelined by an ankle injury. Cole injured himself while rushing to aid MJF during his AEW World Title Match against Samoa Joe, landing awkwardly after a small jump off the ramp. Despite his injury, Cole has been making appearances.

Recently, in an interview, AEW President Tony Khan provided an update on Adam Cole’s in-ring status. Khan revealed that Cole is not cleared yet, but he is improving. He stated, “He’s not 100%, but he’s getting better and better. I think that’s great news for AEW. We love Adam Cole, and the fans love Adam Cole.”

“He’s been a big part of the company now for almost three years of our five-year journey. It’s crazy to think Adam Cole, a year ago at this time, really felt like he was getting towards the top of the wrestling world. I would love to get Adam Cole back in the ring and he works so hard on his rehab. He really wants to get back in the ring. I think that would be a great thing for AEW,” he added.

With MJF’s return at AEW Double or Nothing and his attack on Cole, it will be interesting to see how this feud unfolds, especially since Cole has not been cleared yet. Whether any member of his faction will enter the fray remains to be seen.

Anticipating the Adam Cole vs MJF showdown: When will it happen?

Reports suggest that AEW is currently not planning to immediately start the feud between MJF and Adam Cole, given that Cole is still not medically cleared. Fans are eagerly anticipating when they will see these former best friends face off in a match.

With Adam Cole out of action since last September, the promotion may delay this feud until summer. It’s possible that Cole could receive medical clearance by then, allowing the promotion to kick off this feud. Their match could potentially happen at AEW All-In in London at Wembley Stadium.

London fans would then witness a rematch between Adam Cole and MJF, as both stars headlined the show at the same venue last year, with Maxwell defeating Cole. However, with the changing circumstances, it remains intriguing to see what will unfold if the match takes place at Wembley Stadium.
