A new series of videos explores the Twin Peaks phenomenon

Showtime has just brought online a trio of videos that takes a look behind the scenes of the Twin Peaks phenomenon and examines decades of a devoted fanbase. Check out all three videos in the players below and catch the return of Twin Peaks Sunday, May 21 at 9:00pm ET/PT.

Kyle MacLachlan returns to the role of FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper for the new Twin Peaks, which picks up 25 years after the season two finale. Immediately following this Sunday’s premiere, Showtime subscribers will have access to the third and fourth parts, exclusively across the Showtime streaming service, Showtime Anytime and Showtime On Demand. In its second week, Twin Peaks will air the third and fourth parts back-to-back on Showtime, starting at 9 p.m. ET/PT, followed by one-part episodes in subsequent weeks.

Directed entirely by David Lynch, the new Showtime 18-part limited event series picks up twenty-five years after the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town were stunned when their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered. Twin Peaks is written and executive produced by series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost, and is executive produced by Sabrina S. Sutherland.

The series also stars returning cast members Mädchen Amick, Peggy Lipton, James Marshall, Michael Horse, Kimmy Robertson, Harry Goaz, Dana Ashbrook, Sheryl Lee, Everett McGill, Russ Tamblyn, Grace Zabriskie, Sherilyn Fenn, and David Duchovny. In addition, an extensive and unique list of guest stars will appear including Laura Dern, Naomi Watts, Michael Cera, Trent Reznor, Jim Belushi and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
