Einbinder plays a filmmaker charged with directing a new installment in the Camp Miasma saga. Einbinder’s character wishes to cast the original final girl (Anderson) in her remake. The ensuing footage teases a wild and enigmatic adventure.
“After years of slapdash sequels and waning fandom, the Camp Miasma slasher franchise is handed over to an enthusiastic young director for resurrection,” the official synopsis reads. “But when she visits the original movie’s star, a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.”
Additional cast members include Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Kevin McDonald, Quintessa Swindell, and Jack Haven.
Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma is Schoenbrun’s third feature film, behind I Saw the TV Glow and We’re All Going to the World’s Fair. Schoebrun’s filmography is shaped by “themes of trans identity and queer horror.”
The critically acclaimed I Saw the TV Glow garnered multiple nominations at the Independent Spirit Awards, including Best Feature, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Lead Performance, and Best Supporting Performance.
Plan B will produce Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma. Mubi financed the film and will distribute it in select territories, including the U.S. and Canada.
Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma opens in theaters on August 7, 2026.
