Hulu has shared the teaser trailer for Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, the upcoming revival of the beloved Fox sitcom from the early 2000s. The special four-part event is scheduled to start streaming on Hulu and Disney+ on April 10, 2026.
“After shielding himself from his family for over a decade, Malcolm is dragged back into their orbit when Hal and Lois demand his presence at their 40th anniversary party,” reads the synopsis.

The video shows a closer look at the original cast’s return, including Golden Globe nominees Frankie Muniz and Jane Kaczmarek, along with Emmy winner Bryan Cranston. The teaser trailer features Muniz’s titular character trying his best to hide from his family. Lois, Hal, and the rest of Malcolm’s siblings are now more determined than ever to force him to attend an important family celebration. It also offers a glimpse of some of the crazy and hilarious shenanigans that will happen during the long-awaited reunion.
Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair is written and executive-produced by original series creator Linwood Boomer. The reboot will also feature the return of Chris Kennedy Masterson as Francis, Justin Berfield as Reese, and Emy Coligado as Piama, with Caleb Ellsworth-Clark taking over the role of adult Dewey after the character’s original actor, Erik Per Sullivan, decided not to reprise his role. According to Cranston, Sullivan is no longer interested in returning to acting since he’s currently focused on his studies at Harvard.
Additional cast members include Anthony Timpano as Jamie, Hal and Lois’s fifth child, Vaughan Murrae, Keeley Karsten, Kiana Madeira, Craig Lamar Traylor, David Anthony Higgins, and Gary Anthony Williams. The limited series is executive-produced by Cranston, Tracy Katsky, Gail Berman, Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan, Natalie Lehmann, Jimmy Simons, Laura Delahaye, and director Ken Kwapis.
