Netflix has shared a brand new 3 Body Problem trailer for David Benioff and D.B. Weiss’ upcoming sci-fi epic drama, which will start streaming on March 21.
The video highlights the time-bending series’ action-packed sequences as the main characters uncover the greatest threat to humanity. It teases the dire consequences of a decision made by an ambitious young woman for the sake of scientific advancement. Ahead of its series debut, it will first have its world premiere during the opening night premiere of the 2024 SXSW Film & TV Festival.

What is 3 Body Problem about?
“A young woman’s fateful decision in 1960s China reverberates across space and time into the present day,” reads the series’ official synopsis. “When the laws of nature inexplicably unravel before their eyes, a close-knit group of brilliant scientists join forces with an unorthodox detective to confront the greatest threat in humanity’s history.”
Based on Liu Cixin’s 2008 novel, 3 Body Problem is created and executive produced by David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo, who are also serving as showrunners. The ensemble cast consists of Jovan Adepo, John Bradley, Liam Cunningham, Eiza González, Jess Hong, Marlo Kelly, Alex Sharp, Sea Shimooka, Zine Tseng, Saamer Usmani, Benedict Wong, Jonathan Pryce, Rosalind Chao, Ben Schnetzer, and Eve Ridley.
It is executive produced by Bernadette Caulfield, Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, Lin Qi, Zhao Jilong, Xiaosong Gao, Lauren Ma, Brad Pitt, Jeremy Kleiner, Dede Gardner, Rosamund Pike, and Robie Uniacke.
