Ripley Trailer: Andrew Scott Becomes an Identity Thief in Netflix Miniseries

Netflix has dropped the official Ripley trailer for the upcoming thriller drama, starring Golden Globe nominee Andrew Scott.

The video shows Scott committing identity theft by taking over the life of a wealthy man’s son. It highlights the things he’s capable of doing for the sake of his lies. The miniseries will be available for streaming on April 4.

What is Ripley about?

“In the series, Tom Ripley, a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son Dickie Greenleaf to return home,” reads the synopsis. “Tom’s acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud, and murder. Meanwhile, Marge Sherwood, an American living in Italy, suspects darker motives underlie Tom’s affability.”

Ripley is written and directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Steven Zaillian. Besides Scott and Fanning, the miniseries will also be led by Johnny Flynn as Dickie Greenleaf, Pasquale Esposito, Franco Silvestri, Eliot Sumner, John Malkovich and more. It is produced by Scott and Endemol Shine North America in association with Entertainment 360 and Filmrights. Executive producers are Zaillian, Garrett Basch, Guymon Casady, Ben Forkner, Sharon Levy, Philipp Keel, and Charlie Corwin.
